I see peopel talk about kayak all the time and wondering if anyone had a suggestion where and what I can get one. I dont have a lot of money so second hand will be great.
anyone know a good shop?
p.s. I went to CanoueSports (?) one day and talk to a guy name Bruce something. He seems to know quite a bit, but he was not very nice saying anyone fishes without kayak is an ideot (but not quite in that exact word) and all people in internet are people who dream about going fishing and do not know anything about. So, I prefer not to go there. anyhow. if anyone out there can suggest where i should go and who to talk to, please let me know.
thanks

I own a Cobra Fish-N-Dive. It's a sit on top model. It's 12.5' long, 36" wide with a 600 pound capacity. It only weighs 57 pounds, so it is easy to carry around. The only draw back is that it doesn't track all that well...which simply means it's not a slim/fast kayak. On the flip side, it is very stable & easy to fish out of. I purchased mine through www.madpaddlers.com. They are a Florida based company who ships directly to your local airport...no tax. You can also call them. Their number is on their site. They do handle some used kayaks, but you'd probably be best off calling for a complete list. You might also want to check E-Bay as they (MadPaddlers) sometimes run special packages on new ones through that site. It's best to test drive the different models locally before purchasing one.

that guy sounds like someone to avoid like the plague! Opinionated sales people can run off newbies faster than everything!

I suggest getting on to http://groups.yahoo.com/group/txwwff/

There are some real kayak fishing gurus on that list who are nice and friendly and can get you pointed in the right direction.
