um no, good way to ruin a good return policy.

And the exact reason why rod companies have changed their warranty policies, people taking advantage of a good thing.

Guess I have been fortunate with my (5) Carrot Stix rods, no problems as of yet and have had them for a long time. You think it is because I have the Carrot Stix Wild makes a difference? Many pro's on tour and the college tours use them.

I buy all my gear at Academy becuase of their great customer service. Just a handfull of things I cant get there, and I shop at local stores for that.

I have been through 3 carrot sticks with Academy, they take them back no questions asked

A little birdie told me they have a way of generating $$ from returns

I'm not saying this to rile anyone up, but exactly how would you warranty a rod anyway? Since it would be nearly impossible to know if it was broken from a defect or a truck tailgate? Surely no one expects a company to replace a rod due to screen doors or clumsiness, so how do you prove that a rod broke from pure defective manufacturing?

Just asking.....

I bought a spinning rod and hate it! Been having trouble with the eyelet on top the insert keeps coming out. I agree they are junk!

Rod builders can normally tell just by the action of the rod, length, and tip speed where a manufacture defect can occur. Now that's not to say if a batch got out where they break in an odd ball place, but that would be more pronounced and they would have more people returning rods for the same reason.

I am in the process of switching to all Dobyns rods,I think I have 7 now. I broke one of Extreme rods a couple months ago, I walked in handed the local retailer the rod I carelessly broke and $60 he handed me the exact same rod. For a rod that retails for $300+ I would say $60 is a good replacement for MY FAULT damage. If it would have been a defect if would have been free.

I have ZERO complaints about Dobyns warranty..
