fished state park cove, johnsons branch and sand creek and most of the grass is gone.

are they spraying or is the heat killing it off or something else?

I am pretty sure most of it is a result of the really cold winter last year and the fluctuating water levels the last few years.

Why would they kill the grass? Isn't it good for the ecosystem of the lake?

RedRanger scared it all, so it left and went to Mill Creek.

TPWD didnt kill the grass... water level fluctuation over the last few years is the culprit.

There was a ton of grass this spring. The heat probably killed it, none of it was very deep.

It was growing in 9ft last time I checked. That is probably 6 or 7 now though. I'm sure the heat just knocked it back some. As long as the level doesn't get too low we should be alright.

There isn't anything on the proposed treatment list about RR, but who knows. I would be surprised if they tried to kill the grass since they don't do anything else out here.
