This may be a stupid question, but I'm goint to ask it.
Why do they continue to release water when the lakes get low? Ex: LL is 4.22 ft below normal and they are releasing 545 cfs.
Is it to keep the water moving to prevent stagnant water, etc?

to get the water where it can be used. For an example they are releasing water from Bridgeport and pumping water from richland chambers and cedar creek to Eagle Mountain. All three of those lakes are low. The only place the big development area around alliance airport and around cabellas can get water is from Eagle Mountain. It is strange but Eagle Mountain has come up a 1/2 ft since june 1st. They put a 159 million dollar pipe line a few years back to be able to do it. In nearly all instances they need the water some where down stream or sometime they have contracts they have to full fill. Johnny
