this weekend, 12-13 July 2003, Bass Pro will be hosting a Fly Fishing to-do.

I have no details on the events or times but am hoping that Hack will pop in and update us.

Robin,

Where are you getting your info from? At best the last I heard, it was an on again off again affair. Supposedly (my info at any rate) it was an idea spun by one of the managers who really dosen't know a thing about what it takes to put the deal together. As such it's been poorly organized with lack luster enthusiasiam (sp?).

Hopefully I will stand corrected.

Roger

Sorry about no report last night but it was still iffy. Anyway we had a pretty good day. I met Rick Pope from Temple Fork rods and got to cast the yet to be released Lefty Kreh modal 9 wt. Very impressive very fast action rod. It will punch into the wind. Also Al Crise of St Croix was there and let me play with the new Legend Elite. I fell in love with it. My casting stroke is such that a very stiff rod helps to correct my tailing loop problem and this one fit the bill. We were throwing the 8 wt with a line that has seen a lot on concrete into the wind. Even I was able to punch it 75 ft. Al gave me a few casting tips as did Rick. Both great guys. Al isn't going to be there Sunday but I beleive that Rick will. You can call the fly shop to find out.

Also, John Hahn a fly fishing guide on Texoma was there tying and talking. He will be there tomorrow. Stop by and say hello to him.

cheers to Al Crise who stood out on a blistering hot Texas summer parking lot showing folks how to cast a fly rod right!

So then I take it there was no tying by the FWFF or the DFF? Just a rod demo gig?
