I went to Athens this Saturday a bite was tuff. We stuck it out I ended up catching the first fish around 1130 we started flipping some docks and I caught one around six pounds maybe bigger or smaller my scale wasn't working so I'll never know. About 30 minutes later we came up on a point that was covered in lily pads so we tried throwing our frogs again. We had alot of blow ups but no hook ups and finally bam fish on I could tell this was the biggest bass I have ever fought it went on for ever. I thought he was finally getting tired because I was finally making progress then all of the sudden he took off again and this time he got me tangled up so I went in after him and when I got over my line and pulled and pop my lure came flying at my face and was over. I still feel a little sick every time I think about it,but maybe next time that's what keeps us going back!

Ok. Well odds are it was not a DD, but it hurts do not get me wrong. I vividly remember 3 fish that I lost at Fork which I believe were double digits but will never know. The only thing to do is keep fishing hard, until you catch a 10lber. Once you achieve that all the bad memories go away.

What kind of frog were you using? Were they attacking the frog on top of the pad, floating beside the pads or down in below the surface?

Spro the pads are really thick but there are a few opening about the size of a bottom of a can if you pause in those, that seem like were they would hit

there were lots of big catfish on the banks at our RHBC tournament a couple weeks ago. we had a couple tailslap our pop'rs. there were some BIG ones cruising.

Sorry to hear you lost the big one, but like you said at least you didn't see it, I hooked what I thought was my first 10lber, but when we got it into the net it was a 12lb Channel Cat, it broke my heart.

Yep...try fighting a double digit grinnel(bowfin) for what seemed like eternity on a flick shaked trickworm thinking the whole time you was about to get paid!! I had everybody in the cove watching me as I was hootin' and hollerin' the whole time. BIG FAIL!!
