Why dont' they make a reel that you can flip a switch and go from 5:0 ratio.. then flip it to go to something like 20:1 ratio so you can get the darn lure in when the fish are busting behind you and you have 200yd line out!!!

Take your reels apart and see how the gearing looks, then imagine adding A LOT more parts to that.
You know the old saying
If it floats, flys, or f___s it is always cheaper to rent!
You have to decide which is more important.
