RATZ and I just got back from Alan Henry. First time for him and first time for me in a while. Fished a total of about 10 hours and caught around 30-35 fish, the biggest only went about 2 pounds but it was fun. Fished a drop shot for the first time and caught numerous fish on it. I have become a fan of that type of fishing for sure. I am surprised with the heat how the are biting. Would have fished more this morning but my trolling motor broke, i think one of the cables came loose. Anyways if you get a chance get down there. RATZ caught his first spotted bass and we ended up catching a bunch of those. He also brought his nephew who has never bass fished and he kicked out butts for a while. He caught his first bass on a rattle trap then started catching then on croilan rigs and weightless flukes. guy has a future!

Use 4in. Zoom in 20 to40 ft depth and u will catch plenty of spots and lm. Bigger fish are deep.

I was catching them up in little grape creek near that private boat ramp and dock in 25-30ft of water and up in gobbler creek. Caught all of them on Berkley Gulp minnows in smelt. http://berkley-fishing.com/products/soft-bait/gulp/baitfishThey were hammering it. They were hitting rattle traps as well, in natural colors. Tons on super flukes in baby bass colors, weightless and on carolina rigs, with purple and blue 10 in. manns jelly worms.

There is no ramp or dock in Little Grape, where you in Big Grape? any way nice job on the fish catching. I caught about 25 or 30 on Sat, but nothing over two pounds. The bigens did not seem to want to bite this past weekend!

I guess you are right, up in a cove kinda off the main lake between the two grape creeks, i think from looking at the lake map. Cant say for sure but it was a private dock and ramp.

Sounds like my trip there a couple years ago. We caught a bunch of fish in the 1.5-3# class but in two days of fishing our best one was about 5#. Fun trip with guide Phillip Pool. Good guy.

Yep last weekend was a little slow for bigger fish. Jackpot club Saturday 3 fish stringer was won with about 12lbs,2nd,3rd and 4th all 6lbs+ on 3 fish. Went out Sunday and caught less # but 1 good fish deep.
