I can give you a better report tomorrow afternoon... but, the lower end of the lake is good...water is clear. Lots of OBB-STACKLES have appeared in the lake though, so keep that in mind if you are going to do any running. Study the maps and stay in the river channel. The lake is very deceiving right now. You can be running down the middle of it in 70 feet of water and suddenly find yourself in less than 10 feet.
We have fished the deep points on the creek entrances (Little Rocky and Rocky Cree) with minimal luck. But, the last reports I heard said that guys were catching fish shallow on stumpy humps and points in McCown Valley... there are lots of those with the lake down like it is.... you just don't want to find them the hard way. But, the report we had from one tournament last weekend was of stringers of 20 lbs taken in the McCown Valley area.

I would stay away from the mccown ramp. Too shallow. 2 weeks ago them most fish seemed to be very shallow.
Life journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved state. But rather skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting "holy carp what a ride!"

Here is my report and opinion.... The best Corps ramp is Lofers Bend East. The ramp is in great shape and you will have no trobule launching there. The Corps has done a great job getting the ramp into outstanding shape. The lake is 14 feet 7 inches low. Water on the lower end of the lake is clear. Water mid-lake in the McCown area is stained. Water temps today were 88 to 94 degrees between 7 am and 10 am. Harbor Master ramp is also open... Walling Bend on Rocky Creek may be open. Juniper Cove Marina is also likely open. There are plenty of hazzards... this is a couple of photos of some tree tops in 35 feet of water we found on the way from Lofers to the McCown area: You will note that these are out in the middle of the lake... a long way from shore... if it were Mexico, I would say they are "IRON WOOD" trees, or HOLE PUNCHES and PROP EATERS. We saw at least 3 sets of these tree tops. Who knows how many more of these are just below the surface. That being said, winds were light today... fish were on... we fished from 7 am until 10 am... we put 5 fish in the boat.... top water, t-rig and c-rig. The largest was 4 1/2, also had a 4. Had one nice one jump off at the boat when it saw the net. Our boated total was about 15 lbs. Bite was good, fished from 2 foot to 25 feet deep. Caught fish shallow, 8 to 10 feet and in 20 foot of water. These were all caught on rocky points and ledges.

Those TREE TOPS are down lake from McCown (toward the dam) just off the river channel.... in DEEP Water... the west side of the lake... 1/2 mile or so up from King Creek.
