I usually don't post but the events of the past have few outings have me perplexed. I've only been able to catch under sized Sandies. 20 or so but only 4-8 keepers. I've found them in a few places on the southwest end of the lake near the powerplant has been the most productive. I've been using Moes SSS slabs as well as some slab-a-palooza slabs, fastalleys and little Georges. Nothing providing keepers. Could anyone give me some tips. I've burned the slabs, jigged them and nothing is working.

Jason .. The end of august with 56 100 degree days combined with losing an average of an inch of water a day is the result of your problem .. Trust me .. It's probably not you or the lures .. The lack of reports are not because they stop posting .. Every body just ain't catching like they were smile

I agree. Im averaging 20-30 per trip on Palestine when a couple of months ago I was boating 80-125 every trip. Hybrids are off more than that. Im lucky to catch 4-6 in a trip now

Yep, what John said. The hero days are over for a little bit!
It"ll get better, just hang in there. I'm also having trouble finding quality
fish.

Good luck Mike

Yep, what John V, Mike(luv to fish) and Striper nut all said. Lavon is slowing down also. If the weather cools it should get better. ( If the lake doesn't dry up LOL ) thumb

Thanks guys. Yea JV, I never had any doubt on the tackle, just about myself, seeing that I had been catching quality and quantity and now it's some quantity and very little quality I was wondering where I might be going wring. I guess all we can hope for is a break in the temp and a litlle H2O from the sky. Thanks again guys!

FYI - the fishing club's tourney Saturday, I only saw two teams brought in five sand bass for the weigh in. It has been tough!!! Thats why team RapTrap's win was truly impressive and very well deserving thumb clap flehan

Hit Hubbard late on Saturday and got into a few south of Robertson schooling. Only problem was the jet ski and ski boats pushing them back down. Right place right time for 10 minutes...never found them again

Ya we got on a school of fish close to the red barn, during the tourney.

Birds hitting the water like crazy, but they were 6 to 10" !!!!! Which is good for
next year, but helped me none at the moment!!!

Oh well anyone can be at the right place at the right
time!!!!!

I must say, this year fishing has sucked for me. Bank fishing at Rowlett creek didnt produce like it used to and Texoma stripers on the extinction list.haha

So I bought a boat. Being on the water w/ a boat for the first time for me has been very challenging!

When it was prime time few months back, I didnt have a CLUE what i was doing out there...now that I have an INKLING idea, the drought set its records, lake level start to dry and fish doesnt want to come out and play!

All in all, great learning experience but VERY FRUSTRATING!
