1991 Evinrude 175 hp motor running pre-mix when running around 4500 rpm sometimes has a alarm come on. Does this have to do with heat cause it is not hooked to the oil pump. I have a water pressure gauge and it has good pressure at 4500 rpm. Could a fouled plug and lack of power cause the alarm? When the alarm comes on I shut it off for a few minutes and it stays off until later running across the lake. It doesn't happen all the time just twice yesterday. I hope this is enough info and one of the gurus on here can help. Thanks,

Could be an alarm for low fuel pressure. That alarm sounds the same as high temp. With it resetting so quickly after shutting the engine off, I doubt it if it is high temp. High temp usually will take up to 45 minutes to stop honking the horn. A fouled plug could be an indication that the fuel pump has a small hole in the diaphram allowing fuel to enter that cylinder via thru the pulsing line on the fuel pump. But a fouled plug would not set off an alarm, only makes for the lack of power thing.

That's good news to hear. I will change the fuel filter and change the filter on the water separator. The fuel lines were
changed season before last but I will blow them out. Thanks Mike for the advice. we all appreciate the input from you.
