last night at Auggie's on Eg Mtn. Plenty of shad caught with the cast net but no interest at all from the kittens. Saw someone pull out a couple of small ones but that was it. No one caught any keepers. Should have taken the boat out. I read Deerstranglers report while sitting there watching my ever so still rods and thought.... "I shoulda brought the boat." Oh well, maybe next time.

I got skunked also. Going after blue Cats with 3-4 perch.

Exactly....what's the old saying..."a bad day fishing is better than a whole lotta other things"....

Did better Wed night. Took the boat out. Heavy wind caught me around 1 while anchored south of the island. Came in through rough water on my 17 ft jon boat. By the time I got to the spot between twin points and Auggie's it died down to nothing. Shad were schooling all around so I was able to net plenty of bait. Anchored there and did ok. Funny think kept happening. I was using a light bobber with shad about a foot down and something kept taking it under real fast then run with it about 4 or 5 ft then let it go. Shad was still on the hook. It happened about a half a dozen times. Still caught a few catfish to take home to the wife. Anyone guess what that might have been.

Gar i would say or possibly small catfish, happens again try a small treble as a stinger hook with your normal hook, catch a lot of short strikers.
But as was siad before you at least got out there, im 9k miles away overseas working everyday lol so i cant get out there till feb. time for a few weeks.
