Working around LBJ today, just after dawn I pulled up to a customers house today about 5 houses down from the little park ramp I use and noticed a ton of cars and boats. Asking whats going on I found out last night after dark 3-4 guys had taken a drag boat out after and during heavy drinking, with no lights, or life jacket and was running this boat up and down the quiet little cove over and over again doing all kinds of dangerous doughnuts, etc. Around 9:30 pm all went quiet. L.C.R.A. authorities, sheriff dept. etc. along with choppers where called in to search for the body after the flip of the boat. This morning divers where still on site along with sonar boats still searching. Haven't heard any results yet........ Prayers go out to the family. ..... Common Sense to all others please.

The gene pool is being cleansed by bad decisions one dumb@ss at a time.

I know it sounds harsh, but I have a hard time feeling sorry for someone who would take a boat and do stupid tricks at night, with no lights, while drunk, without a life jacket. Any one of those bad decisions could do a person in...put all 4 of those decisions together and, well, we see what happened.

What ever happened to good old Common Since and Good Judgment. What a waste of life. Sorry to hear about such a tragic accident. Prayers sent to the family.

Couple weeks ago on Lake Benbrook, a jet skier decided that it was smart to be out at 11pm turning donuts in the middle of the lake with no lights. Only thing that I could think of was man if you go in the drink, your done. Don't understand people. Prayers sent to the family. Senseless!

My God...how awful.
That poor family.

Hey, not to start a controversy or take away the seriousness of the matter but when did this happen? The Austin link is dated Monday, July 19, 2010. The young lady's obit is dated July 18, 2010. Did the wrong link get pasted?

They're reporting that a "well known" paraplegic drag boat racer was thrown out of his racing boat and drowned about 8 pm Thursday evening. He was apparently alone, no PFD. He had been injured in a motorcycle accident when in his 20's. He was from Granite Shoals.

Guy was 35, they say. There was a big speed boat competition on LBJ the weekend of August 12-14, during which the winner hit a speed of 258 mph.

Friends don't let friends drive drunk!

Those so called friends probably watched and laughed, and now they have to live with it!

Just one more cast!

I was one of the lucky ones. Now, whenever I boat, one beer is my limit. And, I don't boat at night.
I really feel much sorrow for the family of the young lady (deceased). I suppose charges could be filed, or a lawsuit.

Need to improve my LMB fishing, running out of time.
