I hear they are letting water out of Conroe and I say, "drain the freakin lake". I can't help but laugh at all the homeowners who whined and complained about the "grass problem" to the point TPWD felt they had no other choice but to overwhelm the lake again with grass carp and totally irradicate the lake of habitat for all species of sport fish. I'm a firm believer in karma and all I can say is..."you gave us ours, now god is giving you yours". Enjoy your weed free lake!!

there's an exception to your rule. homeowners like me who are fishermen. and to boot now i'm about to put my house on the market, and it's gonna be tough as hell to try to sell it with mud behind it instead of water. pray for rain.

The same thing happened to Lake Weatherford. TPWD put grass carp in the lake way beyond what was needed for control, and a once great fishery is now sterile. If it were not for the docks and man-made brush piles there would be no habitat at all.

Stumpjumper, anyone spending the extra money to buy a lakefront house should look into water levels over the years. If they do that they will see that there should be plenty of water for the majority of the years they will occupy that house. I have only seen Conroe low like this twice in the 17 years I have lived here. It is East Texas and will flood again. I hope this bad timing for you doesn't end up hurting your ability to sell your house. Good luck with it.

And the whole Housing market is such a jewel. Definitely a buyers market. Maybe lease your Conroe home until the market improves?
