easy: Nighttime - black size 1/0 or 2/0 popper Early morning - white size 1 or 2 popper. Its too hot to fish any other time around here.

Robin - Stamina is a good source of inline fly spinners for the Tom Nixon flies you posted.

I tie a fly that looks alot like that first spinner fly. Funny thing is that I've caught more catfish than bass on that fly.

Doug: that spinner makes me wish I tied flys! Oughta be a KILLER! I have caught small cats on small bettle type spins.

MarkA, you dont have to tie to make these. Alot of those spinner blades you can buy as snap-on attachments that you would attach your existing fly to, and then tie onto the spinner. You can even use your beetle-spin spinners... just unattach them to your jig, and put a fly instead. It should cast pretty decently with a 5wt and up.
