I posted this last night on LFF with no response so far. Hopefully some of my fellow TFFers has some experience there:
So many guides to choose from; Allstar, Bayou, Calcasieu, Corbello's, Hackberry, Ritchey, Fishing Tom. Need one for my wife and I for her birthday last week of October. Want a G-rated guide with good equipment and of course good knowledge and skill. We are both life long saltwater fisherman, both having grown up on the coast in South Texas. Fished alot out of SE Louisiana but have no experience in Calcasieu area. Any "guidance" would be appreciated.

I have fished with Hackberry Rod and Gun guided for almost twenty years. The fishing, lodging and meals are first class. The guides are very good. PM me if you would like any more info.

Jeff or Mary Poe with Big Lake Guide Service. Fantastic lodging, great people, fantastic fishing.
Hackberry is probably most well known.

Only been one time and that was with Hackberry Rod and Gun. First class operation and super nice, hard working, experienced guide, Mike Barre. My buddy and some friends have used Mike several times. Well satisfied every time.
Good luck.

Thanks for the suggestions. Sounds like Hackberry has a following. I've got a buddy at church who has used Calcasieu Charter Service the last couple of years and has been happy with them. What's the difference from the guides fishing out of Hebert's marina on the east side and those who fish out of the marina on the west side, like Hackberry Rod & Gun?
