Planning a trip this weekend to RC and was wondering how the bite has been. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

After an entire Summer of easy limits and not having to burn much gas, the fishing was very tough for us on Monday, and certainly not easy on Tuesday. Little to no top water action, and fish were on the move. NO fish on the Flats, Pelican Island or any of the usual spots. Unless the bite changes in the next few days, you'll probably need to go up the Creeks and hit Points, Humps and Timber to catch your fish.
Business has finally slowed and we now have plenty of Weekday openings and even a boat open the last Saturday of the month. Give us a call and we'll go fishin'!

I was out saturday and the fishing was ok. We ended the day with a limit of hybrids and a limit of blue cats all on live bait. But like royce said in the above post you have to move around alot and burn some fuel. As of last weekend you can still find hybrids on some of the usual spots from the 287 bridge to the dam but they seem to be running in small schools and they scatter quick if you get a bunch of traffic around them.
Also, if you are not real familiar with the lake BE CAREFUL. There stumps sticking up in places you may not have seen them before. I saw a bass boat slam a stump in the middle of the lake saturday morning just before the sun came up.

Royce is correct - this past Monday was the toughest day of the year. Weird!!!! But every other day it's Limits on the White Bass or Hybrids or both. Limits Tuesday and then today Wednesday the Hybrids were going nuts (as was the White Bass also). Note: All fish caught on TNT Slabs - The Mark Parker Spcials. See picture posted on www.texasguidefishing.com (everday we fish). It changes everyday where they are, but that is what keeps it interesting,

How low is the lake Mark? I assume oak cove is still good.... No Fish were harmed in the making of those pictures today (all catch & release). The lake is about 5 feeet low, but actually at this level you can see all the trees. It's actually much safer at this level than the near normal levels (when you can't see all those trees). It's a great time to mark on your GPS those unusal trees now that you can see them and mark some trials thru the thick trees while you can (before the lakes come back up). See you out there,
