2 weeks ago i fished a tournament and was fishing Baffin...at the end of the fishing day we cruised back in, close to the east shoreline of the Laguna Madre...boats flew by me, due to my lil 90hp nissan, but luckily i had this 90hp motor...just as 2 boats cruised by me, i noticed another boat a little closer to the shoreline and 2 waders about 40yrds upwind of it...i then noticed 1 of the waders was waving both of his arms...i slowed down and noticed that the boat was drifting away from them at a good rate of speed...1 of the waders began to swim after it, but there was no way he wss going to catch it...it almost looked like this guy was drowning so i hauled tail to the boat, dropped my pops off on the boat and went for the swimming wader 1st...he had a wade aid belt and was exhausted when we pulled him on our boat...my pops anchored down there boat, so we could take him to it...he said that they used their power pole and and even helped force it into the sandy bottom...the wind was probably only gusting at about 20, but it still didn't hold...the other 2 boats went by so fast they couldn't see these people needed help...the wader offered us some beer and thanked us...be careful guys

pray for your local LAW ENFORCEMENT

You probably saved a life SAPDBLUE!

One 10-pounder is better than ten 1-pounders; but 100 1-pounders is ok too!

I almost lost my first boat one night flounder gigging the East Cut of Port Mansfield when I was a very young and foolish man. My buddy and I fished till dark than anchored up just west of the south jetty. I ran the anchor up to the sand dunes and stuck it pretty good, so I thought. We got out the lantern and the gigs and headed west looking for flounder. Two hours later when we returned, no boat!!! Fortunately some campers were night fishing under portable lights with a generator and they took us up the cut in their boat until we found it drifting west on the incoming tide. It had floated over to north side of the cut on the south wind and that is why we didn't see it pass us as we headed back east. Man, were we freaked out for a while. No fun losing your boat.
