On the way to work this morning my Diesel is running like a gas motor on 7 cylinders. I back track and make it back to NAPA and change out the fuel filter there in the parking lot. Starts right up and I make it about a mile out of town and it starts shuttering again and completely shuts down.

I couldn't get it to start back, it would try to pick up but just wouldn't stay running.

Got it towed a a friends shop, and waiting to see what he finds.
Any ideas?? I am thinking fuel pump

with that description i would definitely say fuel pump...if you can replace it yourself it will save a lot of money...most shops want you to let them do an injector service or they wont warranty the new pump.

Low engine oil. The injectors use high pressure oil to open and close. If you are low on oil it will not run. Could also be high psi oil pump or cam sensor.

I checked the oil as I had that issue a long time ago when the high pressure oil seal blew and I had to get it on a trailer to get it home

Cam sensor has already been changed out Once on my dime and once on the recall. It wasn't cutting out like it did when that went out.

My cousins had this problem with the cam sensor, sometimes it would act up and run poorly and sometimes it would not start and sometimes it would up and die till he replaced it.

Also no codes were showing on the dash when any of this happened.

Might also be the oil sending unit on the back of the injection pump causing your problem,it shuts the fuel off to keep it from damging the motor, did you notice any oil running out of it,also i have seen the cam sensor do some strange stuff also,i have my FIL carry one with him and a wrench to change it out himself, there only 28.00 dollars for the sensor. As far as the oil sending unit just look down in the valley and see if it is full of oil.

Ford had a recall on the 7.3s due to a bad cam sensor. You might check to see if yours ever got recalled and fixed. If not, I would not let a shop other than a dealer work on it till you know one way or another about the recall. If it hasn't been fixed, Ford will pay for the towing if it's the sensor. Our company 7.3 would just up and quit, we paid for the fix, then ended up getting our money back when they issued the recall.

Im not saying it has to be the cam sensor, but as you already know it has gone out twice already and it sounds like you are ruling it out because it has been replaced and it acted up differently last time, could very well be the same thing again.
