God I love the Devil's.
You put in at the state park, I take it, based on the mileage you quoted and the pics.
You camped on an island? That looks a lot like a rock outcropping I remember below that "mansion." No one hassles you there, but I don't remember an island. Look closer next time, there are several good sized, flat islands in that area. Even with water as low as it is right now, they are still complete islands.

Do you guys bring a sat phone or any other type of communication device like the spot messenger? I rented a SPOT messenger last time I went. I guess Im somewhat paranoid and would rather have it and not need it than not have it and need it. No sir, never had a sat phone or spot. Not a bad idea though.

Brady just figures that if they get into trouble, somebody will at least find them floating in the lake eventually. But really, the good thing about rivers is that float plans are pretty predictable, and if you have a scheduled pick up time that you don't make it to, somebody knows to come looking for you. Which still may be enough time to expire.
But having a Spot as a "I'm in deep $%" button, would be much more conducive to not dying than relying on a float plan, our nothing at all.

Oh, and nice pics as always Brady. If I put a jackson sticker on my ocean kayak can I come float the devils with you guys next time?

That camp site is 1/4 - 1/2 mile past Three Tier Falls. You can see the mansion from this island.
