how do you think this flood will effect the river. will there even be any trout left

It's a question we're all asking. I'm sure there will be trout left. The bigger ones will find holes to hide in. Many of them will be washed downstream far enough that the temperatures will kill them. Just means the catfish and striper will be that much bigger.
This is an unprecedented flood. We'll just have to wait and see.

stripers were, i don't think that they live in the river. unless your talkin about mcqueeny, i've never been there

The Stripers that live in the Guadalupe River below Canyon dam. There were plenty there before these floods and I would imagine there are a few more now.
There have been a few 40+ lbers pulled out of that river.

Didn't the water coming over the spillway intersect the Guadalupe river at horseshoe falls? This means the river between the dam and the falls should be untouched.

your right, it did intersect at horseshoe falls. the area right below the dam is fine, it got alittle gouged out but stillin good shape. as for the rest of the river.....
