I'm a bass fishing guy that is interested in catching a few sandies but not sure what to throw at them. I was out last weekend and came across this but only caught one.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

With fish id on.

Drop a slab in the middle of all that and burn it up 4 to 5 cranks stop and let it fall . Do this and you might catch a few smile cheers

or take your slab and add a 8-12" leader on the bottom and tie on a crappie jig.

If there is water...I will find the fish in it

So slab above the jig or jig above the slab?

Robbie, I don't know the physics behind it, but my graph looks a lot like that very early in the morning, late just as the sun is setting, and at night. Just curios as to what time of day that is. Most of the time it is not a huge school of fish, but it doesn't mean there are not a few down there. It looks like you may need to lean out your settings and bring down the sensativity and color line. I try to lower mine to tune out all the clutter, small bait piles and debrit so that it only picks out hard targets. That may or may not be fish, it is kinda hard to tell. BUT.....if you are marking them like cordwood top to bottom, a 1oz. slab dropped to the bottom and burned up should put them in the boat.

Thanks, but I really dont know. These pics really intrigued me because my graphs always look like that in very low light. I am always wondering why. They clear up a half hour after the sun comes up hammer

It was around 3pm. I thought something had happened to the graph because it went from nothing to the thing being full. I powered it down and restarted the unit with the same results. Caught one small sand bass out of the group. After going not 50 yards the bait and fish cleared off the screen. Circled back around and went thought the same area and they were still there.

Matt I was wondering if on Twak it was the high plankton content?

Really quick...is there some sort of way of not getting the slab hung up in the rocks or is it just one of those things that happens.

Think you've nailed it--looks like the sensitivity is cranked up too high. I frequently got a cluttered screen like that, particularly after a sudden change in speed, on my HDS, until I adjusted the sensitivity to maximum "negative auto." Still shows too much. What you really want to see is distinct arches against a white background. Like someone said the other day, the Fish ID feature will show you fish in your garage.
