 I NEED HELP!

Me and the wife have been fishing every weekend (Bank Fishing). We have been fishing at Benbrook (a couple times), Whitney, Cleburne Lake, & lately at Aquilla. Were are using cut or whole shad and 4-5 rods. Fishing structure, shallow, deep, etc... We stay out almost all night long most of the time. Heres the help part. All we catch is between 3-6 fish a night and the biggest being 3.96 lbs. What in the world is going on and why are we not catching alot of fish like the rest of the ppl on here? Why only little guys? Please HELP????

Just gotta keep at it. Bank fishing is tough this time of year with this drought. just gotta keep wetting those lines, and you will catch em.

ur kicking my butt...I been catching TWO fish a nite in 6-8 hrs fishing with a few skunkings thrown in...I beleive it's the case for most ppl bankfishing and several in boats...Summer time fishing is rough.......Fall n Winter should be better.........  Plus u mentioned two sucky Lakes- Benbrook,Cleburne.....One Hard Lake - Whitney and one I know nuttin about- Aquila.....the few good banking reports u've seen on here lately have come from Lavon....by guys who fish that lake alot......

Yea we went to Benbrook (right by my house) and got skunked for the 1st time since the last time we went there. lol

I always got skunked at Benbrook till lately with the lake so low....I've caught a few nice blues(3,4,7,12,14 and a 22 lb) 3 outa last 4 trips (skunked on last trip) but it was still 2 fish a nite....
I've fished Grapevine 4 times in last few weeks and had 2 skunkings and caught 4 small channels one nite and one 3 lb blue another....and thats fishing from 10pm - 4am!!

Sounds about like our trips. Been fishing all night at Aquilla lately.

Mix it up. Pitch a bait off the bank and try to throw the next one across the lake. Bait size can also make a difference. I've found here on my home lake that lately the shad fillet is beating out the heads and chunks. Next time I go it may be chunks or whole shad or just heads. I'm not familiar with the bank fishing at any of the places that you're going to but if you can figure out where the bait is then the fish should be close behind. Usually wind blown points or banks.

Another thing you need to realize is that there are many who are here because they love to fish but many of us don't report the "average" trips we have.
Keep reading and learning from these folks, the catch will improve.
I think its cool that your wife does all nighters with ya too.

Please HELP???? Yup. You're doin' much better than a bunch of us. I've been averaging 1/2 a fish per trip. (One fish every other trip). I've been to the lake at least 8 times in the last month and a half, and I've probably landed 4, maybe 5 fish. The best trip I've had in awhile came when I got lucky enough to catch a ride on a boat in L'ville. Just be patient. It always seems to pick up when the temp drops some.

If you want to up your odds on catching numbers of channelcat. Sour you some grain, chum out a couple of spots, get some good stinkbait like sureshot etc, and get after it.

You are doing fine. By building up power, you eventually gain warp speed. And you got the other half right there with you, can you imagine how many here on the TFF would wish for such a thing. It's all in the numbers sometimes, but once it clears the hurdle, look out.
