your are absolutely right, Tom. I have several large storage boxes with junk I wasted money on. Circle hooks for shad and plain treble hooks for Sureshot and you are set.

I'm not a metallurgist but I would think it wouldn't be possible to die metal before it was formed. The only way to make the color stay on would be to annodize or powder coat it and bake it on. Both probably too time consuming and or expensive for fishing hooks. Anodize is for aluminum only never steel.Worked in metal finishing industry for 8 years glad I gave it up ha ha.
