Thanks Trey

A friend and I started up the river a few years ago in his Bass Tracker, and got stuck in the same place as those guys. It's not but 3-5, inches of water, or less, at the mouth of the river, when the lake is down like it is.We got out of the boat and finally got it to move off of the shallow spot, but it was a chore to push that aluminum boat.Who ever goes up there to help, use extra care after the set of powerlines at the mouth of the river.Rockie,If you bought one of those 2012 Bass Cats with the 350hp motor, you shouldn't have any problems pulling him off the hump. Good Luck. I will not go to the river alone just for that reason,I'll always have a second boat with me.

I want to give a special THANK YOU to Rocky Martin and Trey Bennett for being so willing to help total strangers out of a tough situation, and honestly rescuing us after being turned down by the local public safety agencies.

I want to thank everyone here on the TFF for being such a great community and helping out in whatever way possible.

These two men and the young boy that was with them are stand-up individuals and my friend and I are indebted to them greatly.

I was one of the two men rescued by these men yesterday on Lake Ray Hubbard. We managed to get the boat stuck deep in the mud coming out of the river on the north end of the lake. After trying to move the boat ourselves with no success, we started making phone calls to see who could help us out. We had several friends and family working with us to help us out. One of the first things my father did was post here on the TFF, and in the end, that was the winning ticket.

This is such a great forum with a great sense of community, filled with great Fishermen and Fisherwomen!

My friend and I are doing great today. We are a little sunburned and the ego is damaged a little, but probably well deserved.

Needless to say....going to the river is dangerous and shallow....BE CAREFUL!!!!!

Thank you all!

I am glad we could help....

Note: Anyone that fishes the river should not try and make it until we get some rain. It is now lower than what is was in the early spring. The water in the mouth is only ANCLE DEEP. Trust me I walked it while we were trying to get the boat unstuck! Plus, when we got there they had been there for over 3 hours and did not see one boat!

I just love a happy ending! It's great to see people like Rocky, Trey and others come to the rescue. Also, it's great to see the power of the TFF at work. What a great community of folks to be part of. I vagely recall a similar story from someone stuck on a stump on Palestine a while back. I don't remember the specifics but it seems like they were posting on the TFF from their smartphone while stuck. Again, the TFF helped out. What would we do without the TFF?
