For trotline or jugs & YellowCats, I say go with perch, if you can get 'em or keep them alive.

And you are in luck, as the Catfish Calendar shows an extensive run from Saturday 13th thru Wednesday 17rth. However, your prime time would be the standard pattern, which happens to be the 3 day run. That would be Sunday 14th thru Tuesday 16th. And of course the wings spread normally on those 3 would be from Saturday evening until Thursday morning.

Full Moon is Saturday 13th (tonight). For me, the Yellows hit late when a Full Moon is out. If you already know your area & have caught some previously, then try to stay in the same area.
Good Luck!!!

I just set out my trotline this evening in 7' of water in some timber. Baited out with hand size and smaller bluegills, and used big nightcrawlers on the hooks I didn't have perch for.

Finished baiting around 7pm and went to catch bait and run juglines. 5# blue.

Came back at 8pm to check trotline. All of the perch were alive and healthy, and all of the nightcrawlers were gone! Rebaited those hooks with hooker shad that I netted on the bait run. No fish on trotline yet, but we'll see what the morning run produces.

Perch are my number 1 bait for flatheads, whether I'm running lines or R&R fishing.

I do like to use bullheads on trotlines when I can get them.

Good luck.

Hopefully I will be posting some pics of a monster flathead in the next few days.

And get you a Catfish Calender from Lynn, (next post up) his calender WORKS!

Way to go Ictalurids!!!

Looks like you have keyed into the pattern on the Yellows. Had I not worked for Western Company, I would never had those patterned days off. And being in the cement division, instead of stimulation division. Sometimes you just fall into things, such is life. But if you stay aware & learn to observe, you just never know. But then again, you do know. And sooner or later, ya just have to share, so others will know too.

Hopin' you catch that big one!

If not, check out your depth finder (for larger ones) & watch them on several different times (days/nights). Take note of the spots you sight them at & try setting the line accordingly, either across their path or running with it. Sometimes you just have to do a little research to see which way will pay off the best. Glad to see your perch are staying alive.

Estimate on YC biting with Full Moon, they may hit from 2 or 3 AM until 10 AM, at least to what I found. Sometimes Jeff & James (JS) found that their big Op caught in a set of YC days, they would catch it either the first night or the ending night
