Finally hooked into a big fish from the yak! Sure did rip some serious drag on my 8 lb med light!  He spun me in several circles in the the boat and I ended up taking him to the nearby shore to beach it. Need to remember my fish grippers next time! Thanks to the nice gentleman that took the pic for me.

Thanks guys! Yeah I was using small live shad. I was planning on heading back out this morning but it's raining! Who would have thought?

I have been launching at Tickey Creek recently because they closed down Clear Lake last week. I know Avalon well! I caught my first blue there!  No new catfish recipes, all fish were released. I can't keep fish from my new home lake!  Heading out tomorrow to check out the banks of Ray Roberts and hopefully come home with a fish fry.
