The July moon when nearing the full moon produced lots of fish for me....As soon as the new moon arrived the fish seem to scatter. Where I was catching 30-40 in one spot they were not there. Now it certainly could be that waer temp and thermocline had their effect as well but I am ready to test the theory tonight. I know there have been some lunar posts in the forum and I do believe that it can have some effect on the bite....... I may be just convincing myself to go out there and try em tonight, and it worked! I will post LL Nite report tomorrow. Do any of ya'll have similar experience or beliefs about the lunar effect?

I've noticed some trends to be true right around a full moon. Other than that, I think too many factors begin to enter in.

Feild and Stream had a article once upon a decade that said most of the records with fish or game were taken within 48 hours of a full moon.

That being said, I don't have any idea about the July moon versus others.

That's why they call it fishing and not catching!

Moon Phases is just a cycle. 29days from what we see hear on earth. From the star's point of view it's 27day's. Just what we see with our eye's. Full Moon, Crescent, Quarter. Just sunlight we see reflected off the moon. Some what preditable orbit's as the Moon and Earth circle the Sun.These gravitational force's don't control, just influence fish. Peak period's are not necessarily feeding period's. Fish are just more Active. You on the Lake,River,Ocean during a fish's normal feeding and it just coincide's with a Solunar Peek. Excellent Fishing. Posted this in the Fly Fishing. Fish eat everyday just like us. Being on the Water is the only way too catch em. Water Temps, Barometric pressure, water level, storms can throw us a curve ball..

I'd Tack That!!

Thank You Magged Out for sharing your insight...I always enjoy learning more about habit patterns and things to be aware of that may affect the behavior of our target!!!

Any time the moon is up during the day time we have alot of success. Our fishing slows down greatly when the moon becomes full at night. If you see the deer moving during the daylight hours the moon is usually up and bite is on too.

I haven't got to try em at nite since this post, but did get out there this afternoon(SUN) from 4-8pm. Caught 20 in about 22ft of water but the fish were holding at about 12-15ft deep on timber.
