Tough lake to fish. I have caught a lot of good fish out there but they have been caught in the same 2 - 3 precise spots and other that those spots fishing is tough

Ivie got 2 1/2" of much needed rain this morning and more is forecasted for today!!!
Skeetpiece is right on. You fish the spots they're staged at and you can have a great day. The weather has just been way too hot to stay out past noon or 1:00.
The top water bite first thing in the morning and right before dark has been great. A client had never fished top water before and caught a 9 1/2 this week with me.
Jeff Walker had a 13 and his best 5 went 40 pounds a couple weeks back.
A friend was fishing a tournament there and asked where to go. He went to a spot I've found some fish in and caught one just over 11.
The fish holding in the grass are in 3 to 8 foot depths. The fish in the trees are holding from 8 to 15 foot. There's some really nice fish holding at the bends of the river channels and where the river channels meet.

Fishing right now is what I would call slow. Still chances of catching a big fish but not real consistent. This rain should help the shallow bite for a few days. I sent you a PM with some info.

with the "lake" being 80% empty, is it just the river channels noww that have water????

Still several big creeks with water. It's not all the way down to just the river.

As dry as the ground is there wont be alot of run off it will help to get another rain before this drys up, the soil is dry way down had a pole set a few weeks ago at six ft it was dry as powder, and that was next to a tank.
