You will have to run to the river on pad because of low water. If your not familiar with the route I wouldn't try it. Im sure youve heard the stories of motors getting knocked off and lower units getting trashed. If you try it be careful, make sure your insurance is paid up. I had to learn the hard way about 20yrs ago. Knocked my transom out and had to idle all the way back.

Mill creek. If you are there early, make sure to have a frog tied on. Then I would hit the reeds close to the dam with a jig. Don't go to heavy on the jig. Just let it fall and work it slow in the reeds. Have fun and make sure gramps is drinking lots of water and Gatorade. Same goes for you.

I haven't been to Holbrook since late June. The bass were schooling by the dam during the heat of the day. Chrome/Blue back rattle traps would catch them quite well. In the morning we fished topwaters (Pop-R's) on the main lake points and did fair. We were also at Purtis Creek in mid-May. Caught quite a few fish on medium diving crawdad\goldish\orange colored crankbaits in the timber near the primitive camping area - good luck!

My vote is Mill Creek but I'm not sure how much water is in that pond.

Anyone been lately?
