town lake (austin) , whats the best fly to use and how to use it ...

I mainly fished around red bud Island using a popper or a white clouser. As soon as I get my Fish cat I'm planning on doing a lot of fishing here pretty soon. Another good spot is where barton creek in Zilker park I've seen some huge bass in there I pulled out a couple of 4lbs. using a bass worm black or blue. hope this is helpfull and maybe we can meet on the water someday.

Hey man i go to Zilker park every afternoon to fish ..... im not sure where Red Bud Island is... I heard the perch at Zliker get big in the summer.... write me an e amil if you want to meet up i go every afrter noon......

BTW ... im limited to a bike .... im a student at UT ...POOR

Besides Red Bud Isle, I've heard fishing under the south 1st bridge is a good spot. town Lake is best fished by boat however.

mike, where do you usually go at Zilker? Just curious because it seems hard to fly fish from the bank there, or do you use a spinner?

i use a spinner at the mouth of barton creek ...i lost a 4 1/2 pounder today


but from a canoe those waters look great to fish with a fly.... i love to catch perch on the fly
