Plan on doing a little bank fishing this evening while daughter is in gymnastics (Converse).
I looked at google maps and now see two lakes/ponds at the converse north park. is one better than the other?
Where is the windcrest (or Live oak lake/pond at?)
Would like to actually have an opportunity to catch a catfish or more while fishing for panfish.
Thanks

The Rifleman's Creed
This is my rifle. There are many like it, but this one is mine. My rifle is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I master my life. My rifle, without me, is useless. Without my rifle, I am useless. I must fire my rifle true. I must shoot straighter than any enemy who is trying to kill me. I must shoot him before he shoots me. I will....
My rifle and myself know that what counts in this war is not the rounds we fire, the noise of our burst, nor the smoke we make. We know that it is the hits that count. We will hit...
My rifle is human, even as I, because it is my life. Thus, I will learn it as a brother. I will learn its weakness, its strength, its parts, its accessories, its sights and its barrel. I will keep my rifle clean and ready, even as I am clean and ready. We will become part of each other. We will...
Before God I swear this creed. My rifle and myself are the defenders of my country. We are the masters of our enemy. We are the saviors of my life. So be it, until victory is America's and there is no enemy, but Peace.

Both the Converse and Live Oak lakes are off of Topperwein Road. There are city park signs that are on Topperwein showing the way. Judging by reports Converse Lake would be your best bet. The lake is low but holding it's own. There are some nice Gills in that lake as well as Redear and some nice Channels. Converse Lake is about one mile south of Kitty Hawk. There is a sign saying park that helps you find the way. Good luck.

Though there was a guy out there that day telling me live oak was better right now... Since converse is closer to my daughter, I'll hit there again. Thanks again.

"Tun3R" and "Urban Fisher" fished Converse Lake about two weeks ago and the bite was on. They caught some really nice Gills. Hopefully you will find some!

Hopefully you will find some! i caught a few tuesday with biggest a hair over 6 inches. Only fished about 45ish minutes though. I'd much rather catch Catfish, but the panfish bite helps pass the time faster.

It's perfect time to fish for those monster gills as it's full moon phase . We were out there really early i have been going out there a lot these days was there earlier today too . Bad thing had no live worms with me for those big gills i saw them moving around the bank . Day time it will be really slow . Try either morning time or evening if you want to try that spot .

Thanks, will do next tuesday. Catching fish here. Getting action on marvs, but must be males as they aren't committing.

Caught a bunch in the 6-7 inch range when I finally found them. Had one hitmy line so hard, it broke it above the bobber stop. Never sawmy bobber come back up.
Had one hit my marvs and keep going. Luckily I was right there or else my rod was gone, holder and all. Reeled it in and it was a nice size soft shell turtle. Wil post the picture later.
