I usually stick with top water like poppers, jitterbugs, spinners. What do people have the most luck with?

Or go straight to tactical bassin and start the night fishing video series at the beginning.. Matt's smart.. He gives away a lot of information.

I wonder this too, from my experience last night you want to go dark, I started off with a light green worm and after 4 hours had no bites, boater was getting bit. I switched to a black worm like he was using and caught 10 the next 2 hours.
Is dark or black plastics always a rule at night or is that just something with this time of year or lake?

Dark worms, jigs, black spinnerbaits with BIG, single colorado blade (I prefer gold), Black/Blue Gene Larew Hawg Craw and a black jitterbug have always prodcued for me.

Is dark or black plastics always a rule at night or is that just something with this time of year or lake? Not hard and fast but yes, that is the general rule. I used to catch them on fire and ice on full-moon nights, too.

Its just the dark sioulettes (spelling?) better and I think the fish can find it better.
You can get bit on any color, but it seems like they take to darker, or blacks at night.
80% of the time, I am throwing a big 10-12" black worm at night texas rigged and have caught some big fish doing this.
This past year, I have caught several 7-8lbs, all at night on a worm.

Black and it needs to displace a lot of water. does that mean large bodied? something with tail creating action? or you putting more action in it? all the above probably.
