Has anyone ever done any good verticle jigging slabs for SB and Hybrids at night, at the places or spots that you catch'em during the day? Im not talking about live bait and lights.

I don't know how you would watch your line. I know you would get some by the strike, but most of the time I see the hit before I feel it. Let us know if you try. I have had plenty of good luck with minnows and lights.

IMO live bait after dark- bait shrimp work ok after dark for hybrid at lake belton
I've caught fish like crazy just before dark just to have them shut off at dark.

I don't know if its our lake (Arrowhead) but at dusk the school seems to "disappear", where they go I don't know and by then we have plenty and haven't tried to find them. When I say they disappear I mean they aren't on my graph or SI anymore.

Yes u can catch them with jigs at night. I have caught plenty on jigs at night, however, I always started with crappie lights and minnows. When they are on every drop with minnows I will switch to bobby garland jigs. It works for 30-45 mins then minnows again. Never tried to jig only. But its good if u get them earned up. IMO

hmm ive got to try shrimp for hybrids. Even in good SB or Hybrid waters, counting total fish caught YOUR SHRIMP BAIT will have a higher Chanel Cat total at night than the scaleys combined. A few Blues Maybe.

I have had very limited luck after dark! Most all the fish ive caught after dark have been very shallow like 8 ft of water or less. I've caught two hybrids in deeper water 15-28ft after total dark but i think it was more a case of being lucky enough to drop my slab on their head and get a reaction bite but it has not been something that i have been able to recreate with any consistency.

I love fishing for sandbass and Hybrids at night. I use jigs tied 5 in a line. Lots of fun! Usually the wind is down and it is deffinatly cooler.

I've done pretty good at night this year. The best bite was in June and July. The hotter it got the less fish we caught. The key was to find a hump near deep water. We would get on top of the hump and fan cast around it with Flitterbaits. We use braided line and do a lift drop all the way back to the boat. The hybrids don't hit hard, more like a slight tap. Here's a couple of my buddies with their catches. I'm camera boy.
