I was out fishing Stillhouse the other morning with my brother. About 2 hours after daylight the fish started schooling off of the main lake point up by the dam. We head on over there catch a couple next thing you know some guy comes roaring up next to us about a hundred or so yards from our boat. We continue fishing next thing you know im on the trollin motor and i see a lure land about 5 feet in front of the boat. my natural reaction was what the #$*! so i look to my left and this guy just keeps on workin his lure right in front of the boat. couldnt go nowhere till his freakin lure was out of the way of the boat. I asked him what the h@#* his problem was. He kinda shrugged it off and said "the fish are schooling their all over the place." idk if its just me but i figure if there are schoolies 'all over the place' then why cast so close to another boat they can reach down and grab your lure. (which is what i was thinkin about doin). just kinda thought this was a little disrespectful.

You know I understand your view in this situation. There have been several occasions where I've been on schooling bass and had 2 or 3 other boats fishing the same school with me. As long as I'm not getting tangled in anyones line its all good with me. Schooling bass are a blast to catch and aren't always around. So I don't mind sharing the fish in this instance. But just like you said, don't hit my boat or cross where I'm casting. Other than that lets have a blast pulling em in.

Yeah i agree. just thought this was way too close. he was catchin alot of fish like we were, on a completely different lure, shoulda reached down bit the lure off and tied it on my rod haha.

Can be tricky especially when there at 5..10..20 boats sharing a school. I have been in that situation with bass, specs, and reds. I know it's hard to come by but a little commen sense comes into play here. You don't cast right up on someones boat.

Beings that it was just the 2 boats on the school... the guy should have never come close to you when casting.

No respect, no respect at all. I wouldn't mind it if he'd work a line that didn't interfere with me, but please, a little courtesy

I have been there and it blows my mind how someone could do that. I look at it from what would I do and I might wish I was there but there is no way I would go over there. There is a new generation of fishing that I guess haven't been taught the right way to conduct their self on the water. Its hard to believe that people are that ignorant.

I would have ran over his lure.

I have no idea what I would have done to be honest as I'd have to be in the situation first.

Regardless it's horrible that people don't have respect.

Ive been there I know how you feel. Was fishng a school of whites one time at lake livingston and this guy came up trolling and went right around us. Next thing I know his lure hooked right into the transducer wire on the trolling motor. I had a hell of a time getting the hook out. Was so pissed I was cussing at him and my dad kept saying settle down son settle down haha. We ended up having to replace the transducer.
