I am sure there are some that have heard and some not, but Charlie Ducote passed away this morning. Please keep his family in your prayers. Charlie was a great tyer and caster but he was a better person. I had the honor to work with Charlie for a year or so at BP, he will be sorely missed.

Thanks Mike. I just received the email from DFF. Charlie was a great man who loved people and loved to share fly fishing and tying with all he met. He will be missed.

Rev got it right. I met Charlie at Texoma on the Fly last summer. I had just started fly fishing and was a little intimidated.Rev made me welcome and then Charlie took over.He tied flies & gave them to me & explained what he was doing. Even sent me flies later. Thanks,Buddy!Truly one of the Good Ones!

He was a joy. I bought a gamefisher boat from him a few years ago, and was fortunate enough to get a tour of his tying desk and equipment room. Like King Tut's tomb, it was full of treasure. Safe passage, Charlie.

I'll sure miss you Charlie. The RoadKill Roundtable has taken a couple of serious hits the past few months. You do get to be pretty good friends when you share a tying table most Saturdays for over a decade.

It is a reminder that we need to remember to spent time with your friends no matter how hot it is or how busy we are.

Thanks for your friendship.

I hope there,s a place way up in the sky.
where Flyfisher,s can go,when they have to die.
A place where a guy could buy a cold beer
for afriend or comrade, whose memory is dear.
A place no non fisher or bait dunker could tread,
nor a management type would be caught dead!
Just a quaint little place:kind of dark, full of smoke,
where they like to sing loud, and love a good joke.
The kind of place a lady could go
and feel safe and protected by the men she would know.

There must be a place where old Flyfishers go
when there flyrods get to weary, and their fly boxes too low.
Where the whiskey is old and the woman are young,
and songs about flyfishing and tying are sung.
Where you'd see all the fellows who'dgone west before,
and they would call out your name,as you came thru the door,
who would buy you a drink,if your thrist should be bad
and relate to others,"He was quit a good lad!"

And then through the mist you'd spot an old guy
you had not seen in years, though he'd taught you to ty.
He nod his old head, and grin ear to ear,
and say, "Welcome home son, I,m pleased that your here".
For this is the place where true tyer,s come
when the battles are over and the wars have been won.
They've come here at last to be safe and afar
from Government Clerk and the Management Czar
Politicians and lawyers, the feds and the noise,
where all hours are happy, and these good old Cajan boys
can relax with a cool one,and a well deserved rest!
"This is heaven,my son.....you've passed your last test!"
