New Texas Law as of 9/1/11

You can now carry a weapon on your boat as long as it is concealed. If your stop on the water please let the officer know you have a firearm aboard your boat and were it is located.

Please be careful on the water because you don’t know if someone has a weapon aboard their boat.

If you run from law enforcement in your boat it’s a State Jail Felony as of 09/01/11.

Nice! I believe this is the bill you are referring to.

I also like this one. It will come in handy on those days I leave work and head for the hunting grounds or when I forget to take ammo out of my console after a weekend of hunting.

well if it doesnt apply on corps of engineer lakes, that eliminates abt 80 percent of the inland lakes in the state. What a crock ... I have heard hunting waterfowl is legal on army corps of engineer lakes during season, but how are you supposed to get your gun into the lake, if no guns are allowed in the parks, where you launch your boat, you have to bring it into the park in order to get it on the lake? ALL corps parks ive been into to launch my boat have a sign clearly stating.. no firearms.

COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !

Whenever I go to lake waco early in the morning to fish, I often think abt the poor teenagers that were butchered at the boat ramp early one morning by a nutcase named David Spence, he and 2 other beat, stabbed , raped, defiled, and dumped 3 innocent tennagers right at the boat ramp, then drove them across the lake, and dumped them at another corps park.. Just think for a minute what would had happen if a fisherman had drove up on that scene while it was still in progress, or shortly after they had finished. Do you think they would have asked for a fishing report? Hell no, they would have done the same thing to you. Corps parks arent any safer than anywhere else. STAY PREPARED TO DEFEND YOURSELF WHEREVER YOU MAY ROAM!!! For an accurite accounting of that incident, theres a book called CARELESS WHISPERS.. by Carlton Stowers.. check it out.

I will have it, sorry if that makes anybody uncomfortable, but I'd rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6

Corps lakes don't keep me from carrying. When I go on night trips knowing that I am coming back to an empty ramp late at night, I am protected. Also, I don't like leaving a firearm in a vehicle at night for someone to break into and steal. What does more harm, me having a weapon to protect myself or a criminal on the street with a firearm?

Well if you are in need and know one of my boats, I can promise you I will have more than a boat oar or pliers to help out. Law enforcement does a great job but timimg is everything. They cannot be everywhere. One good rule of thumb...alcohol=no guns..guns=no alcohol. Law enforcement are serious about the mixture. Be safe, have fun and always be prepared to stay alive.
