Thanks, I think so too. This is a new original pattern, but it is from an older style, that has been around for some time. This is a north eastern style of fly, the hackles are tied in on the top of the hook. Carrie Stevens did her flies lower, and she glued them before tying in. The longer shanked hooks are excellent for trolling. If you want to cast them, just downsize to a 6x long, or possibly even a 4x long hook.

Kelly: You sure are getting good at tying this style of flies. I never could get the feathers in the wing correct when I tried tying similar flies...I find I keep coming back to take another lok at this fly. I think I have been back to look at it again four times so far today.

Thank you SnoBoy. A good photograph of your fly can really help. A bad photograph can hurt the look of your fly. I take a few pics of each fly, and choose the best one.
