Hey guys I'm a fan of taking 4 poles out with me on my kayak and I was just curious to what yall use as standard setups? Right now I have a texas rig setup and a crankin setup. Lookin for advice on the other 2.
Thanks guys

Well I'm a big fan of big jigs and t rigs. A heavy or x heavy/fast 7 (or more) footer for flipping/pitching/punching in the junk is absolutely essential for me. On the rare occasion that I throw a big spinnerbait or DD22 or even a flutter spoon, it can work for that too. Other than that, I also like to take a medium fast spinning rod for skipping light baits up under limbs docks etc... and also maybe a drop shot occasionally.
1. M/H 7 ft xml rod - t rigged and weighted hook plastics, ribbits, hollow bodies, small jigs, weightless 5 inch senkos and fat ikas, chatterbaits 2. H 7ft kistler - jigs (95% of the time), the occasional oversized plastic, big spinnerbaits, flutter spoons, DD22. 3. Med 6 1/2 carbonlite - squarebills, spooks, spinnerbaits, buzzbaits 4. Med X fast spinning rod - (this rig was taken from me by a tree at Fork in June, but I will be replacing it soon!) skipped plastics, poppers and zara puppies, occasional drop shots, weightless flukes 5. Medium BPS crankin stick - crankbaits
I find myself leaving the crankin stick at home the most, since the medium/fast carbonlite works well for the style of cranks I prefer and I find that 3 rods is much easier to manage than 4. At some point, I really want to get a 7 1/2-8 foot rod made for deep cranking.

I have 5 rod holders If fishing bait. Cabela's Salt striker Metal 60s on 6.5'Ugly sticks. #6 00 hooks tied with a Tuna Knot so I can either Carolina rig or down shot. I use this for either lakes or river fishing.
If fishing lures. Cabela's Salt striker Metal 60s on 6.5'Ugly sticks. With either deep diving lures or Hellbender with either trailing spoon or a 1/2 oz Hyper Striper in Chart, depending on what I am after.
The other 3 rods can have a Kastmaster (or preferably the Bass Pro knockoff), Rattle Trap (or better the Cordell knockoff), Berkly pogey, Darting Shad or fishing straight down a 3/4 oz TNT in Mark Parker Pattern.
If I ever take the long rod (12') it gets a modified Bomber 16J XRT or a Tuna popper for the bigger Stripers.
I either troll or anchor, rarely cast any more.
RealBigReel I don't go too fast but I go pretty far.

Depends on what I am fishing for:
Catfish: 4 heavy baitcasters with heavy rods with sanatee cooper rigs on them, 1 ultralight with a top water tied on cause you never know when you will be out catfishing and have a sandie boil come up right freaking next to you.
Crappie: One light rod with ulight reel rigged with jig, one light rod with light reel rigged with 3 way for minnows, one ultralight with top water for same reasons as above.
Bass: One med/fast spinning rod rigged for drop shot, one m/h fast baitcaster rigged for top water (this also gets used as my crack bait rod), on m/h rod C-rigged, one m/h rod T-rigged (also my jig rod)
Sandies: On m/h bait caster with slabbing spoon, one m/h spinning rod with spoon plus jig, one u/l with top water.
Salt: Two Heavy bait casters with either three way rigs or ballon rigs depending on target, one m/h spinning rod with popping cork, one m/h spinnging rod that i use for spoons, spooks, and other lures not used with the popping cork.

1. Texas Rig 2.Crankin Rig 3. Whacky Rig 4. Wild Card, I will switch to whatever i feel I need at the moment. It will be a medium or ultra light setup. If I am going to switch lures it will be on this rig. The previous three are staples for the way I fish.
