We're putting together 2qty 28ft "strictly fishing" boats this month to take up to 8 anglers out on each boat to fish. WE ARE NOT A GUIDE SERVICE!
We're offering a "Fishing Excursion" that will get you off the bank and in a boat.
Our boats will have a HD graph to "attempt" to locate fish. All fish caught will be handled by the angler that caught it.
Each angler will have a comfortable seat, plenty of elbow room, your own live well stocked with live shad, 2 rod holders, pliers, clippers, net, rag and glove right in front of you! Plenty of coolers for beverages and fish. Once again....WER ARE NOT A GUIDE SERVICE.
All Texas Parks and Wildlife permits will be on display along with the Army Corp of Eng decal. Fully insured for $500K as an inshore fishing charter. But forget about all that.....we want you to concentrate on relaxing and catching fish.
Reservations will be made 100% online. If you made it here to the forums, then you'll have no problem "Clicking" your way to an available seat.
Each boat will take 2 trips a day....Depart dock at 5:30am and return around 11:30am. Night excursion will depart dock at 10:00pm and return around 4:00am Locations on each lake are still being determined.
Our website will be up and running in about a week so please leave your email address if you would like to be notified of the launch date.
Feel free to ask questions or comments.
A NOTE TO ALL THE LICENSED GUIDES reading this..... We are not trying to "move in" on your business and are true fishermen at heart filling a gap between Guide Service and just fishing from the shore. Each boat will have a 3'x5' board for Licensed Guides business cards along with a 27 LCD HD monitor playing "fishing stuff." Have a video.....give it to us and we'll promote your service. This is about getting more folks into fishing and profit of course.
Pricing is not locked in just yet but the range will be from $35 to $45 an angler with fishing pole rental at around $10. Feel free to bring all your own gear! Water and soda will be sold at around #1. Minimal tackle on board but what we carry will be made by local anglers only! Fish cleaning stations will be available with electric knives for you to filet your catch.
The Fishing Excursion

This will get interesting! A boat with folks paying to fish, business cards posted, Guide Videos, etc. Sure hope this venture stays in North Texas. At $35 a head, that's a heck of a deal! I do like the idea of fishermen cleaning their own fish! Will be interested to see what the other Guides think. Looks like a duck, quacks like a duck...probably a duck!

What kind of coast guard licence will you have to get? I would think it is the next step up from the six pack licence.

So if Joe Angler hoists a Hybrid in the boat and no one nets it, it throws a hook into their head. Who's insurance is going to cover it?

We will carry a $500k blanket liability policy. If someone was injured on our vessel, we would cover it. Great question...thanks!
If someone didn't help their neighbor pull a fish in by grabbing a net, I would be very dissapointed. This is about having fun and making memories.

Like I said in OT, Guide license required or not? It appears to me after reading word for word the Commercial License Fishing Guide.....we may have to pay the 132.00 and get a guide license. We're putting quite a bit of capitol to get this off the ground and we'll make sure that all the i's are dotted and t's crossed. A USCG License is only required for salt water.

Yeah, you are taking money...you are a guide. Hope you've been out at the lakes doing your research, or are you just following birds and boats, like other "part time guide services"? Hope you didn't invest too much into this...

It is easy right now on Lewisville, but what are you going to do once the "hero time" is over??? Taking peoples money and not knowing what you are doing is going to lead to a short-lived career.
