Zonker,
Any update on the fly fishing for striped bass action in the last couple of days?
How long will this marina bite last?

Havn't been able to go since Saturday, so I really don't know how it's been. I don't know how long the shad will be in tight, but as long as they are I'm sure the fish will be hanging' around, too. If I here anything or get around to sneaking off to fish for a couple hours I'll let everyone know.

Fished Thursday night with little success. Caught 3 overs in the first 15 minutes but one spit the hook at me. After that it was nothing but a few small fish (12"). I'm not giving up just yet, but the fishing hasn't been that good lately. I hope this pattern hasn't come to an end. Who knows?....maybe it's just the weather.

Well, I've been twice since my last post and returned with little to nothing to talk about. I'm about ready to declare this years "good chance at gettin' a big striper on fly from the bank" as over. But I'll probably still go out just to make sure sometime this coming week. I'll post. Z

It has slowed at Highport too. Seems the shad have moved out. Hey, did I tell you there is a place in Pottsboro that sells kayaks? I'll stop by there this weekend and see if they have some info I can give you. I see people in those all the time at Highport. Later DG

Won't we get another chance to slay them from the bank later in the Spring? I have always had good luck in late April/May more towards the east side of the lake(not fly fishing though).

I sure hope we have another chance at em. January was by far the best month of fishing I've ever had. DG, if you happen to go in there, ask them if they sell any used ones. I can't really afford a new one right now. Thanks.

The kayak place in Pottsboro is called WaterScapes Outfiters, 903-786-5966 and www.tocanoeandkayak.com . I don't know if they sell used kayaks, but they do rent them. I think the rate is somewhere around $35 a day. Rex
