I won't buy a new boat until the manufactures come back to reality. These are not homes or condo's we are buying, its just a boat. I will not pay 80,000 for a new boat, they are not lined with real gold and silver. I can't afford it anyway but if I could I still would not pay that much for a boat. If everyone else would stop buying them then maybe they would pull their heads out of their livewells and make it where we could afford them and enjoy the sport that much more.

I agree with you 100%, guess we're making up the difference for all the boats they give to the pro's.

I will never have bigger than an 18.6 footer with a 150HP. I'm on my third one now, and have never paid more that $13K for them. They've all been used of course. Cheaper on gas, can go places the big boys can't go, don't have a need to go 70+ MPH, and I know this is wrong, but it's fun to beat guys in tourneys in $50,000 boats. Those guys dont' like comments like: "Did you get that big motor so you could be the first one back to the boat ramp on days like today when you don't have any fish to weigh".

If/when I get rid of my champ, i'm going to a bay boat. 21-22' NauticStar to be exact, less upkeep, more fisherman friendly,25-35k cheaper depending on model, aluminum trailer, better layout for different types of fishing, carry more people, gets in skinner water if need be and can get in some really rough water if caught out in it,and the fit and finish on these boat can rival some of the best bassboats, and the thing I like...no carpet but it comes with a highpressure wash down system, course there are cons to it also, but I believe the advantages out weight them. Besides I'm old now don't need to go 70mph to the next hole
