I'm also interested in any info that would be graciously provided. I love the lake and am going to try my hand at night fishing in the next couple of weeks.

I think your getting your answer. I have fished RR at night a couple of times in the past with no luck. I kind of feel like Charlie Brown and the football when it comes to Ray Roberts. I keep thinking 'this time it will be different' but it never is. The last 3-4 years the lake has been just tough for bass. I think if we can get some consistent grass back in the lake, and possibly some additional stocking (i'm not sure what the rate is to be honest but with high pressure and the massive sand bass population it can't be enough for that lake) she might come back to be a reasonable fishery.
If you get different results, please post. I would love to think RR would produce again, since it's only an hour from my garage door!

Thanks everyone for the replies.
I have been fishing there for years and have never had too much trouble with it. It is certainly more difficult now than it was a few years ago, but I would never consider it a bad lake.
Never done night fishing at all and figured I would try my hand at it in the marina and a few other spots that usually produce during the daylight hours.
Ill let everybody know how it goes.

Maybe I should try some night fishing. I went out Friday from 7 AM to 10 AM fishing the South part of the lake to the dam. Nothing for me this time. It seems that when the barometer is on the rise I don't do well at Roberts. Perhaps I should have stopped to try Sand Bass, it looked like there were several boats hooking up.

Grass, grass and grass. They are in the grass. Went out last night and found them in 4' of water deep in the grass. Didn't get one bite till the moon went down. Then it was on. 7 chunks biggest 8 lbs. OBTW moon went down at 1 am.

Thanks for the tips, I know dark colors are the key at night (so I've read) I guess a Texas rig with a black/blue worm or lizard in the grass?

I did a little research and I think the stocking is a big reason why there are more anglers that have trouble on this lake than on others. Here is what I found on TPWD on the Roberts stocking schedule: Bass, Florida Largemouth 2011 500,719 Fingerling Bass, Florida Largemouth 2005 14,839 Fingerling Bass, Florida Largemouth 2001 522,791 Fingerling Bass, Florida Largemouth 2000 502,121 Fingerling Hopefully they can figure out a way to put more fish in this Once Quality fishery?? Who knows how to go about pettioning on getting something like that done?

If you or the OP go at night report back on this post and let us know how you did! I sure will. We'll be out there sometime this week and probably Saturday night as well. I'll report with something....at the very least we'll know some things that don't work.
