is it possible to use gulp Baits on a Circle Hook, coz i always see anglers use it on a jig.
I love fishing. You put that line in the water and you don't know what's on the other end. Your imagination is under there.

Yep , I sometimes add a split shot to the shank near the eye thus creating my on jig . Mostly I use the split shot 6 inches above the hook .
Experiment and see what you like best . It just depends on the situation which way I rig it .
I think I really prefer using the circle hook over a jig because it is self setting .

Try to hook it so it hangs natural .
1/8 to 1/4 oz weight unless your in heavy terrain the lightest line you can get by with work's best for me .
Get you a cast net and try some finger mullet on that set-up .
My Curada is stung with 12 lb big game mono and my Shimono spincast has six lb mono . My personal best was a 37 1/2 in. 19 3/4 lb redfish on an ultra light with the 6 lb mono . What a rush .

I use gulps on a circle hook with in line sinker. I just cast out and leave on the bottom like any other dead bait and or mullet. No action at all. Sometimes the gulp works so well I think that they should be banned.
What is others experience with threadfin shad? I seem to never get a bite on them. Mullet seem to be much preferred. Kinda like fresh water. They like spot tail minnows but none of the other small stuff.

I hooked a mullet to my jig last year and caught the biggest flouder I have ever landed at Seawolf. As a matter of fact, let me tell you just how funny this was. I had two oriental guys next to me catching flounder after flounder. I had a guy about 40 yards out in a boat casting towards us. I hooked this monster. Got him in eye's view. Realized how big it was - WOW! Then my fricken rod snapped in half. Wanting this monster so bad, I grabbed the line, tossed the reel, grabbed my net and almost went underwater after this sucker! I won! The oriental guys were screaming "Fight that sucker!" The guy in the boat almost fell out laughing so hard. I found the reel and went home with my giant flounder, lol!

Gulp baits are very effective. I've caught alot of fish on them. Funny though, I just realized that the only time Gulp baits are'nt fished like bait, is when they are rigged on a jig head. Guess I've been fishing with bait. When the Gulp baits came out, I fished them alot. There are still times when it seems nothing else works. I simply get more satisfaction from fishing artificials, and have had them out fish Gulp on many occasions.

I've never tried a circle hook on a gulp shrimp before, but I have had a lot of success with a 2" peeler crab Carolina rigged with a circle hook.
