LipRip and myself got together this morning to do some sandie fishing. We got a early start first off we motored out slowly didnt wanna have any problems getting to swallow. We checked a a slope on the way out and a couple of humps,not much going on there few marks not andthing big. Then we headed south we decided to check a ridge thinking that they be schooling up and moving through. So we marked a few areas that looked good so we made a few cast and not much. Then I looked over to the west and saw them hitting the tops and there was a guy working them. We moved to about 18 foot of water and we both made cast and BAM BAM. Two doubles it was on we were just flipping it out about 15 feet and letting it swing back and then work it by popping it up letting back down and then they would attack it. As we were doing our thing we looked up and there was about 15 bouts going all over the place chasing the schools. Both us knowing what the out come was going to be. They would be chasing them all over the lake while we stayed right there and let them come to us.We were catching very nice fish a lot more keepers than Jr's. They stayed with us for about a hour when it slowed we looked up and all the school boats were GONE. Then I decided to go check a mid hump wnet out and checked about 19 foot of water and they were moving so we dropped a bouy to back to so I moved us around and started working a slope in 29.5 foot of water a BAM BAM it was on again we anchored down fished the slope for good while catching alot of doubles and nice quality (BIG KEEPERS).This last for a hour and wanted to check a couple more hump went checked them and we picked 4 more 14 inch fish they were on the move cause there was a lot of boat traffic. Then we went to check two more slopes alot pop up not much to catch. Then decided it was time to make our way back to the ramp so we checked on more slope and we picked up 9 more there.It was getting warmer and we were ready to go at this point.We caught 133 with 100 being set free and 33 making their way to the freezer for a later fish fry. All my fish caught on "OLE UGLY SLABS WITH A OLE UGLY FLY TIED ABOVE" Lip had a two slab combo working which worked good for him. ALL IN ALL IT WAS A GREAT OUTING GOT TO MEET A GOOD GUY AND LEARN SOME NEW THINGS.

Why rush them let come to you. If you know there patterns just stage up and wait on them to come to ya:) that s what is the hardest thing to do. Don't get me wrong surface fish are a blast to catch when you wanting to just catch fish. To catch nice keepers you need to lay back and let them do their thing and then you do yours.

Just had to throw than in there didn't ya. My a/c went out last night. Luckily the A/C Lady in Euless was here early this a.m. and had it fixed before 8:00a.m. I highly recommend her.

Johnny, I guess your long range voodoo is working fine but you hit my house instead of my boat. I guess when your out of town I shouldn't park in the driveway.

I had a great time yesterday Frank. It is really odd not taking my own little red Skeeter yesterday. I kept feeling like I forgot somthing all morning . Though it was nice to only have to worry about getting me and my tackle to point B. That is one sweet Skeeter you are sporting. That Hummingbird unit is like watching the big flat screen in my living room accept with a program worth watching. Very nice. Well like Frank said we did rally well staying away from the boat show. Not a bad day for August in record heat in a drought. I will take it any day. It was great to meet you and we should do it again soon. It is nice to fish with people who are on the same page. Oh and don't worry Johnny, I am sure there will still be plenty of hot Texas days for you when you return.

I have ordered it to be no higher than 75 the first week of september. We will see if me and the man upstairs are on the same page.
