It seems like every time I fish a tournament in weather above 90 degrees, I'm pretty uncomfortable the day after. I usually have a headache and my eyes are all puffy feeling. I also have stiffness in my back and neck, but that's to be expected from standing on one foot all day. Any idea what causes this 'hangover' effect? Any ideas how to avoid or remedy it?

Advil and rest. Do you have a recessed pedal tray on your boat? They sure do help with the legs / back aches.

You also might try to increase or even double your fluid intake. It helps when you have something else to go with water, like Gatorade or another sports drink. They help more with your electrolytes.

Its only been 110 outside, Might have a little to do with it. How many years do we see heat and drought like this. And How old are you? Thats what I blame it on. But my fishing hangover requires more fishing

I would try to make sure you're getting enough fluids on those real hot days. I know when I'm out there focused I tend to forget to drink enough and thats when I start feeling bad and getting down. I have to remind myself to drink water the whole time I'm out there. The gatorade is a good idea to, it will help break up the flavor of water which will help you drink more. But make sure you don't consume to much gatorade. If your sweating its 2 bottles of water to 1 bottle of gatorade.

Also the day before the tourney drink alot of water. It helps the body pregame for the long day ahead.

Hydration is the problem. Try Elete: www.eletewater.com
It is the best I have found for: before, during and after being in the heat. Also, no more leg cramps at night.

Each person you work with holds some promise to your future success.

I used to have the same problem. I started drinking lots and lots of water, and a gatorade throughout the day and made myself eat even if it is only an apple or two and some trail mix throughout the day and this along with installing a recessed TM tray helped loads.

I'd say you might be a bit dehydrated.
We don't usually drink nearly as much fluids as we think we do while we are fishing and just a couple of bottles of water and one of Gatorade ain't enough in conditions like we've been experiencing.
I MAKE my guys at work drink plenty of water/Gatorade. We work "inside" but our ambient temp is around 120+ after around 9oclock.. the fans only move the hot air around..
Twice this year, I've had tourneys where I ended up getting home and then having major leg cramps, headache, etc due to my not drinking enough fluid...
In addition to sports drinks, I also carry a bottle of Pedialite in my boat. Tastes nasty but is full of stuff to get you kick started.

I will second what Don Harper said. The elete water system works big time. much better than Gatorade (to much sugar). Elete water system is much cheaper than the sport drinks too.
I use it & swear by it.

Could be dehydration, maybe. It was super hot, but I drank four quarts of gatorade, one bottle of water, and a 20 oz lemonade. Didn't pee all day though, so I was using all I was taking in. Didn't have cramps. 33, not too old yet. Wore sunglasses, and was fishing out of a friend's boat with a recessed pedal.

Well, it sounds like you just need to stop fishing, then.

Yeah, more working would surely solve the problem.

Today my legs are stiff, my back hurts my hands and arms are stiff, I made myself drink a ton of fluids the day before, the morning of and during. I only took 2 diet cokes in the boat to limit the caffeine. The worst pain I have is the pain in my rear from getting it kicked so bad yesterday. I don't think gatorade will help that.
