Anyone been on Mayse lately. I have a tourney next week and have not been there in 15 years. Any help would be appreciated. Feel free to PM me so the vultures in my club won't read it. HaHa...

I work up in Paris and used to fish that place regularly. Be prepaired for a tough bite. It has plenty of bass in it but that lake sees almost no traffic during the week and on Friday afternoon on in to Saturday morning it explodes with people and watercraft of all sorts. I think this scares the H-E double hockey sticks out of the bass and they go to the basement and hide. I have fished several tournaments on that lake and practiced for everyone of them. I had some of the best practices I have ever experienced anywhere on that lake only to fish as hard as I can go on the day of the tournament and draw a goose egg. I'll tell you this, hit hard as early as you can before they get to spooked. I'd fish the Sanders Cove area working the drop offs at the beginning of the timber. If you can find timber with 7 to 8 foot of water around it I'd work that too. I don't know what the water level is like but I bet it is really low right now

Go to the far west end of the lake and just work the banks and grass lines with a Boo bird topwater bait. If that doesnt work Throw Hot pink dd 22s in the very middle of the lake. Hold on cause the bite is on right now.

it was tough out there this morning. Only managed a couple of keepers. Most came in less than 4" of water. Did catch a few in the dead center of the lake on a pink DD22 as mafia suggested though. That guy knows his stuff!

Junk I went to Bass Pro this evening to get some DD 22s in hot pink ( sold out). And the Boo bird topwater is on back order. Looks like i'll have no luck next weekend. Just have to throw something else. It will be "JUNK" fishing at its finest.
