Try lofers bend ramp by the dam. We caught shad there around 10 in the morning. Throw on the bank in the cove around the ramp area. Most of the time it's eaiser to just bring bait from somewhere else on whitney. good luck look for the 6 in gizzards

Fishing is fair. Went with guide about a week ago. Half a limt for 4 people. So it appears some days good others not. As Ron Washington would day "that the way fishing go"

I'll post up some pics soon. Fishing is good on Whitney, catching limits nearly every trip on artificials. Other days coming close and releasing some unders. Nearly every trip we are catching at least one to 4 double digit fish the rest over 20". Took my wife and grandson out today and caught a quick limit downrigging ledges an edges. We hung around the lake lot this morning and went out about the time others where coming in. Mid day and smoked em down in about 30 minutes then took the wife for a joy ride and to take pictures for the Whitney Views web site. www.lakewhitneyviews.com A bad day fishing beats a good day of just about anything else! This was a great day. I haven't been using shad lately but heard of several catching bait by the ramp at the dam.

I recently caught bait in Towash creek. We caught it very shallow mid morning in the muddy part. May not be much creek left now. Also haul them from Cleburne.
