Old Abu Garcia Black Max, given to me by my grandfather
Low Profile Abu Garcia Blue Max
Low Profile Aby Garcia Orra SX
2 Mitchell Avocet spinning reels

Rods

Black Max, Blue Max, Orra SX, Shakespeare, Shakespeare Durango, Shakespeare UglyStick

i know i need better rods but im gonna use this til i break them or feel the want or need to replace them

all in all i think i have a pretty good collection since i started from nothing about 2 years ago, all my gear was stolen when i was 16 and just never cared to fish til after i found my girlfriends moms pond 2 years back

The Orra SX and Blue Max i just got so i haven't had a chance to use them yet, im hoping to use them this weekend tho

I just noticed in the pic how dirty my Black Max is, i think a good cleaning and oiling is in order

Don't get rid of the Black Max your Grandpa gave you. That is a fine reel. No need to blow your budget on expensive rods. Heck, you probably catch more fish than any of us anyhow.

All of us like the gadgets but I think back with my Dad and some of his freinds at the fish they caught with a peice of cane and about 4' of line sticking them lures under overhanging brush and beating the water up with them.

Sounds like you got just about everyting covered. Hang on to the reel your Dad gave you. The old Abu stuff is bulletproof. You will probably be able to give it to your son one day.

The world is changed by your example, not by your opinion.

If you're happy with your gear, why change? I've fished with a $60 Shimano Spirex and a $600 Shimano Stella, and the Stella didn't put more fish in the boat.

Just my opinion your reels are good. I've learned with time that reels are important but good senstive rods will make you a better fisherman. I used to use American Rodsmith rods from Academy that were 49.99. I'm not going to knock the rods but when it came to throwing a worm I hated it I never caught fish so I pretty much gave it up until I got a Falcon Cara T 7 and now all I pretty much throw is a worm. I have 3 rods on my front deck everytime I go fishing rigged with worms. The sensitivity in rods is a must if your going to be a good fisherman.
