Hell no! I take it you've caught that 10 lb'r. So no offense meant but I'd say that is a bit of an arrongant question if you already have that checked off your list. When so many are still trying to get the first DD. May need to back off the red bull...lol We still good....yep?? 5 hour!! I want my DD!

Is 12 the new 10? No. A 10+ is still the starting mark for being considered a trophy bass in Texas and most states outside of CA. I think that 13 is the accepted mark in CA.
Personally, I don't want the 11-4 I caught in 2008 to be the fish of a lifetime. So over the past year or so, I've changed the way I fish to target trophy class fish. As expected, my overall catch ratio has dropped, a lot. But in time as I learn the nuances of big swimbait fishing, I expect that to change. My target now: 13+
the fisherman formerly known as Blu-Ranger....

I would discount any DD fish caught in a pond. I would respectfully disagree- a dd is just as special on small waters.

I would discount any DD fish caught in a pond. I don't agree with this statement at all! I have caught one DD fish in my life and it was a 10.3 from a 4acre private pond. I don't consider my fish any less of an accomplishment than someone catching a 10.3 from LOP, or some other peice of water.

I would agree with Fouz on 10 pounds being the Magic Number. I would also bet every dollar in my pocket that less than 1% of all the bass fishermen have caught a TRUE TEN POUND BASS. I have seen a lot of pics of "so called" Ten Pound Bass and some are pretty embarrassing.
I weighed a bass back in Dec caught by a man that I know has been fishing for bass for over 20 years. He trolled over to me and said he had one "Way over Ten" and asked me if I had a scale. He pulls the fish out of his livewell and asks me what I think...
I didn't want to hurt his feelings so I said, "That's a Goodun man!" What I thought to myself was that it looked like it was about seven and a half... He hands me the fish and I hook it on the scales... It goes exactly 7.50.
I tell him what the scales read and he say, "Oh no, that can't be right!" I just agree with him and hand the fish back over to him.
No disrespect to anyone but a True Ten Pound Bass is a Big, Big Fish guys and it is a very special day when you catch one.

i live on fork but have jinxed for ever. but my parter chuck has caught 5 over 10 and under 11. and have been just lucky enough to have netted or limped all of them. he has stated the only reason he keeps me around, is my netting skill and will lip a bass with a rattle trap in his mouth

I was looking at the biggest bass thread and man there are some pigs out there. I saw one where it was a tourny fish and it looked small then it was flipped to show the belly and it validated the size. Some picture can be deceiving. When I do weigh in my DD you better believe it will be well documented with pictures.

You got to put them on scales to validate. 8.11 lbs. Over 27 inches long. I knew it was a ten before it went on the scales. So the New 10 is a 12. No Way! 10 is a accomplishment.
